By Lakshmipriya U. P.
My fingers ran through the window,
Looking outside the fiercing
Sun
I remember how my old days
Were filled with bird songs
And the dance of butterflies
When my grandson asks me
About how the world looked once,
I could not find words to reply him
The present world is a lot more damaged…
The oceans are no more blue
The corals have began to disappear
The birds I used to watch every morning
Are fading away.
All I see is smoke
Instead of blue sky
Our world is changing
But not for the better
The seasons have lost their rhythmic pattern
And vanished winters quite never come back
I hope our future generations
Heal our suffocated world
And heal the only home
We have ever known.
