What is the official name of the club, and what is your primary mission?
The official name of our club is Teen Healthcare Society and our main mission is to educate people about different health professions as well as different health topics, for example, how different health systems function.
How many members do you have, and what is the typical “vibe” of a meeting?
We have 8 members and during meetings we like to discuss our work and upcoming tasks at hand, but we also make sure to keep the conversation warm and engaging so while it’s professional we also keep aspects of fun as well.
What specific branches of science do you focus on (e.g., Biology, Robotics, Environmental Science)?
We focus mainly on biology and change the specific topic each month, like muscles, eyesight, nutrition, etc.
What is the most ambitious project the club has tackled this year?
We got the opportunity to interview some healthcare professionals so it was interesting to see what they had to say about our topics and how they could help us.
What has been the club’s proudest moment in the last 12 months?
We have been continuously posting about new topics and several subtopics within them, so I would say just how hardworking we have been through the year
How does the club contribute to the local or the border community?
We contribute by educating those interested about the body so they can learn more about it and also expose them to career types within the field so they can get familiar with them and they can see if it is something they’d like to pursue in the future.
What are the long-term goals for the club?
Long term goals would be to expand our audience so we can share information with more people and keep researching more topics to share with them.
