2025 GGDS High School Competition

Theme: Scientific Investigation and Application for Sustainable Communities
Emphasis: This competition encourages students to showcase their ability to conduct original scientific research, develop innovative projects with a scientific basis, or perform thorough reviews and presentations of community-based initiatives that demonstrate a substantial integration of scientific knowledge.
Submission format:
- Posters/Papers/Presentations
Example of Accepted Artifacts:
- A poster showcasing research on the effectiveness of a novel bio-filter for water purification.
- A paper detailing the original research on renewable energy technologies and their efficiency
- A presentation with slides presenting a community initiative around solar powered programs and its impact.
Important Dates
- Submission of Student Posters / Articles: June 15, 2025 (Submission fee waived if submit before May 15, 2025 and mention you have heard this from Ellie S!)
- Notification of acceptance: July 1, 2025
- Final submission (camera ready poster, well written review paper etc): July 15, 2025
- Authors must submit their artifacts electronically in PDF format to Email address: contest.ya.award@gmail.com
- Note: Winners will be given awards during the Summit hosted at Silicon Valley, California, USA. (need to buy ticket separately to attend)
- Submission entry fee: $25

- One Outstanding Award: $300 USD
- Two Second Awards: $100 USD each
- Honorable Mention Awards
Community Hero awards:
Three awards goes out to leaders who promote this event and referred 3+ submissions (if there are more than 3 heroes, the most referred top 3 will win)
